Still

What you see is yours alone.
No other viewer will see exactly this.

Two curves. Nothing more.

The artist has drawn the lower lash lines of eyes that are closed, and nothing else. No face. No name. No context. Just the quiet evidence that somewhere, beyond the edge of the paper, a person exists.

Still is the first word spoken in this series, and it says almost nothing on purpose. The face belongs to whoever arrives in your mind when you allow yourself to look. You will not choose them. They will come.

Some collectors describe seeing a sleeping child. Others, a parent. Others still, someone they did not expect, someone they had almost managed to forget.

The eyes are closed because what is seen with them open is not always the truest thing. What is seen here, in the space this drawing creates, may be.
